Maria Trim

Maria was born in Stockland on 10 May 1890 the daughter of thatcher, Charlie Trim and Annie Wescott. She was baptised at St Peter's Church, Dalwood, where her parents had been married on 10 June 1890 and lived at "Horseplot" with her parents and brother Sid. She went to school at Stockland until she was 10. The family moved to Northleigh where her father had taken over the New Inn at Northleigh. Maria started school at Northleigh in April 1901
By 1911 Maria had moved to Seaton and was living at 1 Sidmouth Street and working as a shop assistant for farmer, Frank Thomas. I believe that she may have done some voluntary work for the Red Cross, and may have worked at a rehabilitation unit in Seaton during the Great War.
